This is a hybrid position. The ideal candidate would reside within 60 miles of our headquarters in Burlington, NC. and will be required to work in the office 2 days per week and other times as needed.

OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE 

The Human Resources Specialist will play a key role in providing support across various HR functions, including recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, and general HR administration.  This position has decision-making and management responsibility of various HR programs including:  EAP and health education programs, Wellness, Employee Events, surveys and training and development administration.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

Payroll and Benefits:

  • Manage health education and EAP programs.
  • Develop and promote company Wellness Program to include: on site operations of blood mobile, mobile screening services, vaccination clinics and health fairs.
  • Review utilization reports to tailor Wellness Programs to meet team member needs.
  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve as payroll back-up.
  • Assist with company’s 401k Plan administration.
  • Maintain employee benefits files.
  • Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment and other benefits-related tasks.

Employee Relations:

  • Manage company’s Corporate Sponsorships and Matching Gifts programs.
  • Lead and guide Employee Events Committee responsible for suggesting and planning all corporate employee events and activities.

General HR:

  • Administer company workplace surveys. 
  • Serve as project manager for Company Handbook maintenance and updates.
  • Manage company Electronic Communication Stations.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Provide support for CBS University and other training programs.
  • Create and publish monthly newsletter.
  • Collaborate with HR/OD team to create efficient, consistent HR solutions and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience:  5+years experience in the HR discipline required.  Experience with payroll and benefits required, ADP Workforce Now preferred.  HR certification a plus.

Specialized Training/Skills:  Working knowledge and recent experience in multi-state payroll administration and group benefits preferred.  Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).  Excellent analytical, conflict resolution and problem solving skills required.  Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
